About This Site

Reaching Out: PCICS

Effective use of the Internet is an important communications goal for the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society. We launched this site in order to meet people on their terms, giving them the information they want, when they want it.

Needed: Timely Editing

Currency of information is essential; sites must be kept up to date in order to deliver value. We publish general information for public visitors to our site, and we focus most of our attention on keeping current content posted for the Members Only section of the site where we provide information for health care personnel who form the Society.

Response: A CMS Website

Our site uses a Content Management System (CMS) to store text and visuals in a database. The CMS does not require special tools or technical skills. We can edit the content or add new pages at any time, in plain English. Our site was developed by WebSanity; the site uses WebSanity's CMS editing features and is hosted on their servers at a national data center.
